Tonight - Tom Lellis and Toninho Horta

The remarkable talents of guitarist and vocalist Toninho Horta and vocalist Tom Lellis coalesce to create a delightful musical alliance on Tonight, the duo’s first collaboration for Adventure Music. A native of Brazil, Toninho Horta, who the All Music Guide has called a “Brazilian Earl Klugh,” bring a distinctive approach to both his natural and man-made instruments, while the American-born Lellis, whose recent releases have earned spots in the Jazziz Critics Poll “Best CDs of 2004” and “Best CDs of 2006” among many other critical accolades, contributes his richly melodic and vibrant vocal style to Tonight’s 14 tracks. Included in the CD’s repertoire are remarkable interpretations of such standards as Percy Faith’s “Maybe September,” Jobim’s “Dindi,” and Gershwin’s “Summertime,” as well as original compositions from both artists.
