Ricardo Silveira "Outro Rio"
"Outro Rio" (Another River) is Ricardo Silveira's third release for Adventure Music, andthe follow up to his last solo outing, "Noite Clara," which was nominated for a 2004 Latin Grammy award as Best Instrumental Recording. "Outro Ri" was produced and recorded in Rio de Janeiro and features guest vocalist Maria Rita on one track, along with the great Joao Donato on piano, Joaque Morelenbaum on cello, and Probeta on clarinet, just to name a few of the artists on the CD. "Outro Rio" highlights not only Silveira's amazing skill as a guitarist, but also his talent as an arranger, producer, and prolific composer. It's his 7th solo recording as a leader.
Over the past fifteen years, Ricardo Silveira has earned a reputation as one of Brazil's most admired and respected international musicians. Born in Rio, began serious guitar study at age sixteen and is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied alongside jazz greats Pat Metheny and Bill Frisell. Over a career that spans nearly a quarter of a century, Ricardo has has played guitar on hundreds of recordings, including those for such notable musicians as Milton Nascimento, Gilberto Gil, Moacir Santos, Gal Costa, Ivan Lins, Joao Bosco, Chico Buarque and Don Grusin.
